Payment and Terms

Draft — last updated November 2026, pending client sign-off

This page expands the summary shown on the contact page into full terms. Every figure below is a draft carried over from the design handoff and must be confirmed by Elleme Africa Safaris before publishing.

Booking and deposit

A booking is confirmed once we receive a thirty percent deposit against the quoted price. Nothing is payable while an itinerary is still being drafted or revised.

Payment methods and currency

All prices are quoted in US dollars. The balance is payable by bank transfer, or by card with a 3% processing fee added to cover transaction costs.

Balance and timing

The remaining balance is due six weeks before arrival. For bookings made within six weeks of travel, full payment is due at the time of booking.

Cancellation schedule

Cancellations more than ninety days before arrival receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations sixty to ninety days out receive fifty percent of the deposit back. Inside sixty days, refunds depend on what the individual camps and operators in your itinerary charge us, which we pass on without markup.

Changes by either party

You may request changes to a confirmed itinerary at any time; we will advise if a change affects the price. We will notify you as early as possible of any change to a camp, guide or routing on our side, and will not substitute a lower standard of accommodation without your agreement.

Insurance

Travel and medical insurance, including emergency evacuation cover, is required for every traveller. Flying Doctors evacuation cover is included in every safari we run; it does not replace comprehensive travel insurance, which remains your responsibility to arrange.

Passports and visas

Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond your return date, with at least two blank pages. Visa requirements vary by nationality and destination; we can advise but the responsibility for valid documentation is the traveller’s own.

Health requirements

A yellow fever certificate is required for entry to several of the countries we operate in if arriving from an endemic country. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly advised for all safari areas. We recommend consulting a travel health professional at least six weeks before departure.

Liability and force majeure

Elleme Africa Safaris is not liable for delays, changes or cancellations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to political instability, extreme weather, wildlife behaviour, or airline schedule changes. We will make reasonable efforts to minimise any disruption and communicate promptly.

Complaints procedure

Any concern during your trip should be raised with your guide or with our office directly, so it can be addressed while you are still travelling. Written complaints after your return should be sent to info@ellemeafricasafaris.com and will be acknowledged within five working days.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
